Something to Prove – Tyler Spangler, Ep. 42

This week on One Step Beyond, Aram is joined by Tyler Spangler, a freelance graphic designer currently based in Seattle, WA. Tyler has something to prove, and he’s not about to stop trying just because he got his point across. Honing his craft between shifts at the surf shop, he tells Aram about countless hours spent cold-emailing companies offering his design service, booking punk shows at his short lived DIY warehouse venue A Place of Worship, and his unwillingness to walk away from his craft.

Over the last 10 years, he’s shared his art every single day on social media. This has amassed him a significant following, and has landed him work with Instagram, Coach, Adobe, Chanel, among many other large-scale companies

So just how do you go from painting your surf board to designer handbags? Tune in and find out.
